From our topic on Sunday, I wanted to post a couple of the questions that I thought could generate some new discussions. Remember we were talking about the story of Peter walking out onto the water toward Jesus and he starts to sink (for those who want a refresher, it's Matthew 14:25-31).The guy who's in the Nooma video (Rob Bell) tells us the significance of the rabbi and the fact that the "JV team" is who Jesus calls. At which point, Rob changes the dynamic of Peter's position in the story.
Rob says, "Now I always assumed that Peter doubts Jesus. But Jesus isn't sinking! Who does Peter doubt? He doubts himself. He loses faith in himself that he can actually be like his rabbi."
The question is: How big of a role do your insecurities play in your life? Do they affect your faith?
This leads into the bigger question of: Do you believe that God believes in you?

Our insecurities always stop us from doing great things, not just in the spiritual sense. I think insecurities are a way of the devil getting to us to prevent us from doing what God wants us to do.
If God didn't believe in us, then why would He call us to do great things for us. So many times in the Bible we're reminded of the promises God has for us. If that isn't believing us, then what is?
